Who is this for?

Workplace+ Profiler is for anyone in employment who needs to have a better understanding of their strengths and challenges relating to dyslexia and other related Specific Learning Difficulties, and needs to find appropriate support. These are sometimes also called Hidden Impairments or Non-visible Impairments.

The tools and guidance within Workplace+ Profiler have been specifically designed for the workplace.

Will it diagnose dyslexia or other specific learning difficulties, such as ADHD or dyspraxia (DCD)?

A diagnosis of dyslexia, as with other learning difficulties, can only be provided by appropriately qualified specialists. However, the report from Workplace+ Profiler will confirm areas of strengths and challenges, and will, where appropriate, note similarities of an individual with a pattern of traits relating to a specific learning difficulty, such as dyslexia. The employee can use their report to talk through the results with a specialist if it flags up specific areas they want to explore more.

How long does Workplace+ Profiler take to complete?

Simply put, the more information that is completed in Workplace+ Profiler, the more advice and support strategies will be given. But the employee doesn’t need to complete the whole thing all at once.

But please note that they can only do each assessment module once. If the employee has to stop halfway through a module, they will have the option to continue where they left off.

Will there be a long report?

The report from Workplace+ Profiler provides a personalised report for the employee, with indications of their strengths and challenges. It also provides the employee with links to useful tools and resources, and how they can be used.

The report comes in several sections, with overall summary being useful as a quick indicator of the level and patterns of strengths and challenges. The full report can be used to decide which aspects (if any) need to be put into action, such as adapting useful strategies and/or utilising recommended software.

An employee can discuss their report with you or HR to decide, where appropriate, if adjustments can be made.

Is there a time limit for access?

The tests can only be completed once, but you don’t have to complete them all in one session. Once completed, the report can be downloaded and saved so it can be accessed at a later date. There is a lot of information provided, allowing for some strategies to be tried first, and others considered at a later stage.

How can an employee use the report?

Although Workplace+ Profiler is primarily aimed as a self-support tool, the report has been developed to be shared with line managers and, if appropriate, Human Resources.

The report can also help you, as an employer, to meet legislative requirements under the Equality Act 2010.

What computer is needed, or can a tablet be used?

The system works through an internet browser, and should work on Windows, Apple and Android devices. To be accessible, the assessment has sound files. A reasonably fast internet speed is needed to avoid frustration waiting for downloads. We do not advise you using it on a mobile phone.
